Lambkin Lane Farm and Montizard Anatolian Shepherds
We are partners in the Valais Blacknose Sheep breed up program and members of The Valais Blacknose International Sheep Breeders Association and Registry (VBISBAR). VBISBAR was formed to support the introduction of the breed to the United States. We chose Scottish Blackface sheep for use in the program as they were one of the breeds used originally to develop the Valais Blacknose.
Anatolian Shepherds protect out livestock with the help of Orso, our Maremma. Anatolians are extremely versatile. They have been used as guardians for thousands of years and also work as therapy/service dogs, while excelling in the dog show world. Not every Anatolian succeeds as a LGD and those that don’t make wonderful family pets.
Scottish Blackface Sheep
The Scottish Blackface is an attractive, hardy, old breed whose origins are lost to us. It is likely that the breed developed in the border area of Scotland and England.
Our Scottie ewes served as our foundation breed for the Valais Blacknose Sheep breed up program. Our ewes are not retired from breeding and enjoying their lives as lawn mowers.
We are no longer breeding Scottish Blackface Sheep

Located in central Ohio we depend on our livestock guardian dogs to protect our livestock. Coyotes and stray dogs are a constant threat and our Maremma and Anatolian Shepherds make sure that they stay away from our livestock.
